The Carl Schurz German-American Club is dedicated to fostering professional, cultural and social relations between American nationals, organizations and the people of Bremen and the greater metropolitan area.
The club serves to support international communications and to foster intercultural exchange. For this aim our activities are centered on promoting and strenthening social, commercial, cultural and educational ties as well as the advancement of transatlantic fellowship. In addition, the club serves as a social haven and resource center for Americans living in or visiting Bremen and the metropolitan area.
The club has no political or religious affiliations and is an independent, non-profit organization working solely for charitable causes.
Our English conversation evenings are enjoying increasing popularity. Participants are members and guests who have spoken English privately or professionally during their lifetime, and some have also lived in English-speaking countries.
They all do not want to let their language skills wither away and welcome the opportunity to discuss interesting global topics from business, politics, environment, medicine, etc. in a relaxed atmosphere. Articles are frequently based on the leading American and British press.
Each participant may, if desired, deal in advance with the subject matter of the following meeting through appropriate documentation.
